A simple walk along the beach becomes an adventure. This river starts about a ½ mile upstream from this point at the face of a glacier. The water is bone chilling cold and swift. We carry lightweight 'pack rafts' just to cross streams, rivers and bays in the park. They are just big enough to sit in with your backpack across the tubes in the front.
