Todos los agostos, hay lugares en Glacier Bay que arden con el reluciente color rosado de las gigantescas adelfillas. Every August, there are places in Glacier Bay that are aflame with the bright pink color of giant fireweed. The plants grow several feet high, stretching up to better disperse their seeds, which are carried great distances on the wind. Giant fireweed is typical of uplift meadows, subalpine meadows, and meadows on limestone (shown here).
