We will often search out muskeg... it can be much easier to hike through semi-open muskeg than through thick shrubs or dense forest. Plus, it's unusual. Its a bit of a 'hobbit-like' landscape. Small pools are linked by little meanders and the stunted pines and cedar are reminiscent of bonsi. Muskegs like this one take many centuries to develop, so we can be confident that even though the Brady Glacier is not far away, ice has not covered this site in a very long time.
