The house screen within the Huna Tribal House is functional artwork that serves multiple purposes. Its primary duty is to tell stories. These stories are owned by the Tlingit people and can only be told by them. I can generally share with you that this screen tells the story of Glacier Bay as the traditional homeland of the Huna Tlingit. There are many stories within the larger one telling of the various struggles and successes over many centuries. These stories are based on oral histories that have been passed down through the generations. Photographer: Sean Neilson
