Humpback whales sometimes feed as a group in a method known as bubble-netting. They dive down and release air bubbles in a circle that concentrates their prey. The baleen whales then surface on signal, taking in huge mouthfuls of ocean water and food. Most Humpbacks do not feed this way - these were photographed near Juneau.
