About the 2018 BONUS PHOTOS
Glacier Bay is known for change. The glaciers advance, or retreat, everyday. Retreating glaciers open-up or elongate fjords. Lakes appear where there once was only ice. Over time Alder thickets become Spruce and Hemlock forests. Landslides cover glaciers with rocks. Meandering rivers create new channels and oxbows. Humans come and go and occasionally leave docks, weather instruments and buildings that last for years. And as photographers, we occasionally capture an image that speaks... a thousand words. We want the drive to be up-to-date, so we are adding photos as web downloads.
Click on the thumbnails below to open the full size bonus photo in your browser. You can then save the photo to your device and if you want, add it to your Glacier Bay Explorer flash drive. Right now there are no captions for these photos but the photo name gives basic information. We will add captions, and more photos, soon. As with the photos on the drive, there are no restrictions on your personal and educational use of these pictures. The flash drive photos are licensed under the Creative Commons license agreement.
